Swim around the clock

22 Feb, 2012 04:52 PM
Gary Westmore, Jane Whightman, Tina Jensen and and Carol Cooke get ready to get wrinkly – really wrinkly.

The foursome will be among a record 500 swimmers to take part in this Friday’s 24 Hour Mega Swim at Fitzroy Pool, to help raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research.

Thirty-seven teams will take part, taking it in turns to swim from 6pm until 6pm the next day. There are more than 30 such events around Australia, but the Fitzroy Pool one is the longest running one at 12 years.

The Fitzroy swimmers hope to raise $300,000 this year. To donate or for more information, visit megaswim.com.
