Ready to protect and serve

22 Feb, 2012 05:07 PM
Collingwood resident Joe Bianchi, 37, is one of the state government’s new Protective Service Officers who will patrol Melbourne’s train stations as part of the state government’s election pledge to tackle crime and safety at railway stations.

The former marketing employee recently completed a 12-week course in safety and security and is among the first of a planned 940 officers to be employed under the program.

Bianchi says he is looking forward to working with the community as part of his new job.
